Lynn Gaspaire

Washington, 2009

This sighting took place in Okanogan County in October of 2009, two days before opening day of deer season. I arrived at my campsite at 11:00 AM. Clear blue sky, hot, dusty, dry morning. For the next three to three and a half hours, I spent time setting up my camp; tent up, stove installed, cot and bedding in place. Portable table set up and lanterns hung.

I was thirsty and decided it was time to walk down to the creek for water. Checked the time; 3:15 PM. Stepped out of the tent bent over and picked up my water bucket.  As I am standing up, looking in the direction of the creek, I see a large brown head moving above some Douglas fir saplings and below a branch of a Fir tree. The head is moving like its floating along. Then it disappears into a thicket. I begin walking slowly down the path towards the creek.

Then the head comes through the little trees. Now I can make out brown skin around the eyes and nose. Ape like side profile and a ear. Instantly, in my mind I make the identification; Bigfoot!

The Bigfoot is just walking along and comes into a small opening. A complete side profile; dark brown hair head to foot and a little over seven foot tall. Appears to be female as I saw breast.

I am standing still next to a Tamarack tree alongside Christmas tree size Douglas fir trees. The Bigfoot continues to walk down this old logging road that will intersect with the path I am on fifteen feet above the creek. She’s forty to forty five feet in front to my right. As she walks along her arms swing back and forth and her thigh comes up as the leg goes forward to step. Then the opposite leg comes up. The backside foot comes up off the ground, toes about eighteen inches off the ground.

Lynn’s Observation:  When Bigfoot walk they do not pole vault over the knee as we do. As they step the leg comes up around and down. You can see the calf muscles flex and contract as the weight is transferred forward. As the foot comes off of the ground, there is no weight on the foot and the foot actually constricts a little. As the foot settles on the ground the foot expands as it becomes weight bearing.

She came out straight in front of me turning right on the pathway. I drift in quietly, slowly walking behind her. As she’s walking, I can clearly see her from the top of her head to the souls of her feet. Her head is about twenty inches high, eighteen to twenty two inches wide where it meets the shoulders. Her back is covered in dark brown hair.

While she is walking, I can observe the motion of her buttocks and leg muscles. When her foot comes down on the ground, her calf muscles are flexing out. Then as the foot comes off the ground there is no weight on it. The foot contacts only a little. As she starts down the path to the creek I am about twenty five to thirty feet, walking slowly softly behind her. I hear the thumping of spooked cow’s hoofs. Sure enough a small herd of Herefords and Black Angus cattle and Bigfoot is out of sight!

Upon reaching the bank above the creek, with my eyes I searched the bank and the edge of the creek fifteen feet below me as well as the trees and brush going up the bank across the creek. No Bigfoot. Focusing my attention on the ground in front of me the soil was loose sandy dirt. One step in front of me was a 14“ long by 5” at the widest point, narrow heeled print. There were five clear and distinct toes and a little mound of dirt at the mid tarsal area. Kneeling down I can see dermal ridges and lines in the print. It was a fresh print only moments old. The only way to get a fresher print is with Bigfoot standing in it! From the heel of the right foot print to the heel of the left foot, it was 42”to 47” in stride. There were four prints that ended 18” from a granite boulder that touches the creek bank and extending into the creek. I put my five gallon bucket and lid on the boulder as a marker. Visually inspecting the trees and bushes going uphill through the timber and no Bigfoot!

In my years of observations of animals in Washington State, most animals are left-handed (also they normally go north), so I begin to search downstream for bent and broken plants, again nothing. I reverse course and inspect the ground and foliage for prints and broken plants. Nothing! Returning to where I put the bucket. I think to myself; Bigfoot will put a barrier between you and them and the creek equals a barrier. To my left is a old blown down tree resting on the rocks oh the creek with flood debris against it. The log is dry no foot prints.

Turning my attention to the rocks and boulders above the water line and across the creek about two thirds of the way across the creek is a large rock with a wet water mark 2” to 3” above the water line. Now focusing in line from the rock to the bank I see a small clump of grass sod and dirt fall into the water. There it is! The impact foot print of a heavy animal crushing down the bank. Following that line of sight I can see where Ms/Mrs Bigfoot went through the bushes. Mystery solved! So I filled up my water bucket, secured the lid and I thought; Camera! I need to take pictures of the prints! Patting my pockets; ”Rats!” cell phone is on the table in the tent. So up the path I go bucket in hand to retrieve my phone. Back at the tent I put down the bucket and go inside and retrieve my phone. Then I exit the tent and hustle down the path towards the creek.

Oh! Shazam! Sparkles and twinkle dust! The cows are tromping nervously up and down the path. I arrive at the first right foot print and three quarters of it was stomped out and the rest of the tracks were walked on by the cattle. That’s Squatching!

Show Me Bigfoot Note:  I saw this comment on the “Understanding Bigfoot” YouTube channel that features Lynn and thought I should include it.  I’ll also include the link to that interview.

I am the BFRO investigator who initially talked to Lynn about his experiences. We have stayed in contact over the years. As an investigator, I have learned that people who are being truthful can’t hide their emotions, and they always tell of the account the same way. If they are making it up, it gets embellished over time, and changes. Lynn is telling the truth in my opinion. Some people are sasquatch “magnets”; there is something about them that the sasquatches gravitate to. I know of quite a few people who are this way. They are in general, gentle and humble people who show no fear and are not aggressive. Sasquatches don’t mind showing themselves to these people. Other people, who react with fear and aggression are dangerous and to be avoided.
